Remodel
Brummetts Creek
This home was built by the father of one of our clients and was her childhood home. Our task was to update the entryway, kitchen, and the primary bath. Given our client’s family history in the home, we felt a huge responsibility to stay true to the original aesthetic and the need to compliment the brick-floored, post, and beam design that had been executed years before. A combination of hand-scraped hickory, clean high-gloss cabinets, and concrete countertops helped to compliment the existing design, while not attempting to overpower the beautiful hand-crafted work that predated us.
One of our favorite features was the integration of an old cabinet face from the original kitchen with stained glass that had been made by the homeowner when she was a child. It fit seamlessly into the new wall of cabinetry by Stoll’s Woodworking and is a wonderful feature of the kitchen, as well as another component tying old to the new. We are so grateful that our clients trusted us with this treasure of a home and we are very proud of the work.
