Welcome, Sasha!
Sasha Shumyatsky completed his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University in 1998. His first jobs out of school were designing apartment renovations with SPAN Architecture and freelance model making for Ralph Appelbaum and Rafael Viñoly in New York City. He returned to Ithaca in 2001 to pursue teaching, both as a design studio critic and as the wood & metal shop manager/educator at the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning. In 2005, he settled in Los Angeles, designing & building custom homes for Marmol Radziner. Before joining Loren Wood Builders this year, he spent the last 11 years in LA as a Senior Associate and Senior Designer with Clive Wilkinson Architects designing creative workplace interiors, educational buildings, and residential projects ranging in scale from 2,000sf to 500,000sf for Google, lululemon, The UCLA School of Theater Film and Television and Valve Corporation.
Along with their two cats Romeo and Phoe-Phoe, Sasha and his wife Kate are thrilled to call Bloomington their new home and are excited to explore every square inch of it. They love biking, hiking, watching movies, gardening, and cooking.
As a full-service design-build company, we are happy to have Sasha join our team of designers and architects. You can learn more about his background and previous work here.
