This mid 60s home featured a peninsula that jutted into the kitchen. The uppers split the cooking space and small eating area with a bay window. Over the peninsula, there were upper cabinets that obscured any sight line. All of the cabinetry was stained very dark. We worked with Susan Yeley Interiors to create an open kitchen design by removing the peninsula and upper cabinets. New cabinetry throughout was provided by Stoll Woodworking.

The layout required new flooring, so by matching the existing red oak of varying widths, we were able to install the flooring seamlessly to the dining room flooring. We also changed the bay window into an exterior door that leads to a new back deck. The space was totally transformed.

We also reworked their ensuite master bath upstairs by relocating the shower and toilet locations. Changing these locations proved problematic, but after some brainstorming, we were able to present a great solution for drainage by creating a small bulkhead below. The bathroom was a full remodel that included a new glass door shower, new vanity, hexagon tile, and a pocket door. The result was a bright, seamless integration to the Master Bedroom.
