Carpenter by Day, Singer by Night
Sarah Menefee, Boston-born and Bloomington-raised, loves to sing and work with her hands. Sarah came to work at Loren Wood Builders in October of 2018. She works on a multitude of projects but focuses mainly on demolition and carpentry. She also has five years of experience working in landscaping and grounds keeping. Sarah has a love for figuring out how things work, having grown up with a mechanical engineer as a father.
By day she is covered in sawdust and by night she can be found head-to-toe in sequins. Sarah’s other gig is being the lead singer for the local blues band King Bee and the Stingers, which went all the way to the semifinals at the 2018 and 2019 International Blues Challenges in Memphis, TN. She’s also been a member of two award-winning show choirs including a four-year stint as a member of Indiana University’s Singing Hoosiers and is a performer with the Ooolites, an ensemble created by composer Malcolm Dalglish, and is a member of the Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County Women Build. Keep a lookout for King Bee and the Stingers new album to drop in March of 2019. We are so happy to have Sarah as part of our LWB team and look forward to seeing where her talents take her!
