Grand Entrance & Staircase

These clients came to us when their basement was flooding and they needed quick demolition services to make it ready for the foundation remediation. Once we had tackled this, however, they engaged us with the more challenging task of reimagining their entry, stairway,  and lower-level floor plan.

While the original work was well done and fairly high-end, the layout and design did not meet our client’s needs or tastes. That said, there were pieces that they did like and that they wanted us to work with. The existing staircase and balustrade had great bones and aesthetics but needed updating and the main bar-top stone was unique and an architectural feature that they wanted to attempt to reuse.

To preserve and enhance those two elements, we completely reconfigured the entire front entry foyer, through the stairway, and including the entire lower level of the home. We removed the Grecian columns and other heavier design elements and cleaned up the floor plan, making it much more functional and elegant.

These clients were fantastic to work for and the project provided a fun design challenge of working with some neat architectural elements and integrating them into an entirely new design and layout.
