Hoosier Acres

This home consists of a main structure connected to a garage by a partially covered breezeway. A small pool is tucked into a courtyard behind the two buildings. The home is situated on an exposed corner lot, but by turning the house diagonal to the streets, we were able to create a sense of privacy, with the pool nestled into a hidden courtyard behind the garage and home. This decision had the added effect of focusing the walls of windows in the great room towards a wooded preserve which is catty-corner from the home, rather than towards the neighboring homes across the street.

The material pallet outside is a Brazilian Teak, stucco, and limestone. The inside has a very contemporary, bright and open design, with natural white-oak floors, lots of windows, and clean, high-gloss cabinetry. We love everything about this house and are thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to the already diverse Hoosier Acres architecture.
