King’s Road

Design was important to the owner’s of this newly constructed home, but so was livability. Architect Ernesto Castañeda of BODA balanced both as he envisioned this modern stunner. Outside, the interplay of square volumes and the steep roof pitch attract the eye. Simple colors on the fiber cement sided exterior highlight the clean lines. Inside, open spaces provide ample room to display the homeowners’ art collection and library. The floor plan keeps the living space on one level. Separate wings for the master and guest areas both adjoin to the central living area and kitchen. A cedar-wrapped screened porch is accessible from all areas. Exposed trusses in the living room/kitchen are a dramatic focal point. A large basement provides studio space to the homeowners for art and yoga.
