Renovation in Meridian Hills
Developed in the mid-twentieth century as Indianapolis expanded northward, Meridian Hills became home to a distinctive collection of ranch, Colonial, and modernist residences. This whole home renovation reimagines one of its original 1950s homes into a refined, highly functional living space designed for modern life. The homeowners partnered with Felt Space, led by Nikki Sutton and Eric Anderson, and were referred to our team for construction due to our experience with large-scale renovations and historically significant architecture. What began as a dated home in need of structural repairs and full mechanical updates evolved into a carefully detailed, elegant renovation guided by a strong design vision and executed with precision.
The client’s primary goal was to create a home centered around main-floor living while elevating the overall aesthetic through thoughtful finishes and detailing. Working in close collaboration with the Felt Space team from the earliest stages, our approach ensured that every decision, from material selections to construction sequencing, aligned with the client’s vision, timeline, and budget. By coordinating long lead items, managing subcontractors and suppliers, and maintaining open communication across all parties, we were able to deliver a seamless experience from concept through completion. The result is a home that reflects both intentional design and functional living, grounded in the collaborative process.
As construction progressed, the project presented both complexity and opportunity. A significant scheduling challenge emerged when the client sold their previous home, which accelerated the final completion timeline. In response, our in-house team, including electricians, carpenters, and construction managers, adapted quickly by reorganizing workflows and dedicating additional resources to meet the revised deadline without compromising quality. The craftsmanship throughout the home is a testament to this effort, with standout features including a highly detailed kitchen and associated millworks by Stoll’s Woodworking, an incredible handrail by Siosi Design, and a series of custom-built elements designed to showcase the client’s art collection. Each detail reflects a shared commitment to quality between the design and construction teams.
The finished home is both beautiful and highly livable, with a focus on universal design principles that support comfort and accessibility on the main floor. The client has shared that they would not change a single thing and expressed deep appreciation for both the Felt Space team and our construction team. This level of satisfaction speaks to the strength of the collaboration. For our team, this project represents what is possible when quality, timeline, and budget align, an outcome that requires trust, communication, and a shared dedication to delivering exceptional results.
