Rick McCanse

From the inception of Loren Wood Builders, my uncle, Rick McCanse, has been instrumental to this success of this company. Even as a child, I remember being in awe of the fact that Uncle Rick had built his own home (see some pictures below). Over the course of my childhood, I was particularly close with Rick’s family and continued to follow his building career, through his custom home company McCanse Builders.

When I was contemplating a career shift into construction, Uncle Rick offered to mentor me and spent months over the first year of LWB down here in Bloomington, giving both moral and physical support on company efforts.

Over the next few years, Rick became more and more involved in the company and in early 2014, he started running projects for me full-time. While he still maintains his home in Oregon Illinois, he flies his RV down here on Sunday evenings and flies back home on Fridays.

Not only did Rick’s support lend me confidence to start this business, but he has continued to be instrumental in building our team and our culture. I’m so grateful to have him in my life and in this company with me.
