Success School Field Trip to LWB
We recently had the opportunity to host a group of Edgewood Junior High School 6th graders as part of the “Tour of Opportunity” within the Success School curricula — sponsored by The Greater Bloomington Area Chamber of Commerce.
A group of 40 kids visited our shop in Bloomington, Indiana. Shop Manager Jacob Hyer, and Site Manager Bailey Swan, gave the kids a tour of the carpentry shop and demonstrated different woodworking tools and techniques. Designers Alyssa Bullock and Priscilla Rocha walked the group through the design room, discussed design career opportunities, and gave a brief history of the building itself.
For most of the kids, this was the first school field trip since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. We enjoyed hosting the students, and their teachers said they enjoyed the tour as well. We have partnered with The Success School in the past for Reality Store visits and Career Days. As a company, we are dedicated to fostering interest in the trades and design. It has been a rewarding experience for all of us to work with The Success School to highlight different career paths in construction for local students.
