Our clients reached out to us wanting to update their family home in Hoosier Acres. The scope of this project included major interior and exterior work. The design focus outside was to create a new generous porch while more seamlessly connecting the house with the existing backyard pool, and also creating extra space to entertain on multiple decks. The interior work consisted of two new bathrooms, built-in casework for the primary bedroom closets, and new carpeted stairs and doors that lead down to the basement.
This was a multi-stage project that started with a barn/apartment that enabled the clients to live on the property while we built the primary home.
We were impressed as soon as we laid eyes on this neat-as-a-pin horse farm on Bloomington’s westside. The homeowners asked for updates for two bathrooms and three bedrooms in their brick ranch. Exquisite tile selections and Carpets Plus Color Tile’s well-executed flooring installations give this remodel a dignified look. The homeowners wanted maintenance-free showers and baths, so they decided on Cambria surrounds and countertops installed, creating a practically seamless and certainly waterproof surface.
On the exterior, we created an eyebrow shed roof above their basement entrance door that matched the architecture of the other farm structures. We couldn’t be happier by the outcome and the work by our crew and our partners on this project!
These wonderful clients won our carpentry donation through the Project School fundraising event. When we met with them to see how we could help, it turned out that what they really needed was design work for their upcoming remodel project. Instead of carpentry, we donated design time to help them plan out their project.
We converted their elevated back deck into a screened-in porch and added stairs for easy access. In the basement, we converted an unfinished portion into a full home theater from Experience Technology equipped with extra soundproofing and mini-fridge area. We also finished out their lower-level living space into a playroom area and bedroom.
