We have two interns working with us this winter and spring, Madison Knott and Megan Hodge. They are helping with our design team and with project management.
Madison is from Chicago, Illinois, and is a senior at IU studying Interior Design with a double minor in Sustainability & Business. Outside of school she is the VP of the IU Women’s Club Basketball team, loves to work out, and is a self-proclaimed foodie. She decided to intern at Loren Wood Builders this season to gain a better understanding of the design-build process and learn how to apply her skills outside of the IU Design Studios. So far, she’s been working on implementing sustainable design solutions into our current projects. She’s also helping with material selections and client presentations.
Megan is originally from Monticello, Indiana, and has her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from IU. She is currently working on her master’s in Environmental Sustainability at the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IU. She is pursuing a career in sustainable commercial building design and currently studying for the LEED Green Associate exam. Outside of school, Megan loves to paint, do yoga, and hike with her dog. She pursued an internship at LWB to gain interior design and project management experience in the design-build field. She will be working with our Project Manager, Rhett Elliott, with commercial project management tasks such as visiting job sites, attending meetings, coordinating with subcontractors, and recording budget info.
We are so excited to have them on our team this season and can’t wait to see what wonderful work they will produce!
